Open Education Resources, or OER, are resources created for education that have an open license and can be freely shared, copied, modified, or remixed into new versions.  Many of TBCC’s classes utilize textbook OERs, saving students and the college hundreds of dollars that would otherwise be spent on textbooks. Courses that use these resources will list them in the syllabus or your Canvas course with a link.  

Open Education Resources are free and can be accessed electronically. However, an advantage of OER is that because their copyright is not owned by a traditional publisher, TBCC print copies for students. TBCC does not require that students print these resources.

If you would like a physical copy of an OER: 

1. Contact the TBCC Library OR fill out the order form below.

2. Take the order form to the business office and pay.  

3. Bring your receipt to the library and show staff. 

4. Library prints the OER and puts it in a binder. We attempt to do same-day printing, but please allow up to 48 business hours. 

5. Student picks up OER from the library.
